We are still looking for regular members. The plan of the club is to learn and practice various styles of animation. Members can work on their own projects, or work as a group and an opportunity for peer critique will also be available. The club hopes to enter projects in the Howeard County Film Festival later this year. Anyone interested can look for Mr. Prymas in room N222.

Girls Empowered
Ms. Nicola Hildreth
The girlsEMPOWERED group is for girls in the 10th-12th grade. The focus of the group is to enhance the social and emotional development of girls. They are given the opportunity to feel empowered, gain self-awareness, develop coping strategies, improve problem-solving skills, understand that they are not alone, and learn to make healthy decisions. The group has been in session since November and will end the beginning of March. We meet on Tuesdays after-school. International Club

The International Club is dedicated to creating a social awareness and understanding between American students and students who immigrated to the U.S. The International Club is open to all students at Howard regardless or age, race, ethnicity, nationality, political affiliation or sexual orientation.

It's Academic

Practice and meeting times: The team meets one to three times a week for practice in room B-120. Currently, practices are on Monday afternoons from 2:30 P.M. until 4:30 P.M., and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M.
The primary goal of Howard’s It’s Academic team is practice for and competition on the It’s Academic television show. To this end, Howard High School has one of the 10 most active It’s Academic teams in the Baltimore-DC region, competing in many academic tournaments run by high schools, colleges, and independent organizers.

A team of outstanding students from Howard High School won a playoff match on IT’S ACADEMIC, defeating two other first round winners---Perry Hall High School in Baltimore and North Carroll High School in Hampstead. The match will be aired Saturday, April 17, at 10:00 am, on WJZ-TV, Channel 13. The Howard team consists of Greg D, James E, and Abigail S. Their faculty coach is John Gilbert. This victory has earned Howard High School a place in the semi-finals later this season.

many service projects such as chaperoning at PTA's movie night
for the elementary students at Ilchester Elementary; mentoring
elementary students at Bellow Springs and Phelps Luck; participating
in a 9th grade mentoring program; attending the County's first
Youth Summit; and serving as group leaders at Howard's 9th
grade overnight orientation.

National Art Honor Society (NAHS) – Chapter 07

The 70 students from this chapter run by the Art Department were quite busy this past year and successfully completed service credits to become official members from over 160 chapters in the country. Meetings are on Wednesdays after school in A219 -REMEMBER: There will be open enrollment for Art I students who maintain at least a B in December.

The SGA raised money and school supplies for the Kenya Project, a county-wide service project. The SGA planned, prepared, and ran a community fair to raise these donations, participated in the Maryland Association of Student Councils (MASC) Legislative Sessions, and hosted a successful Homecoming Day and Dance.

The Howard High
Step Team is a year-long commitment consisting of students in grades
9-12. Students are encouraged to try out for the team at the
end of the school year to join the next year’s Step Team.
The team performs at pep-rallies, basketball games, showcase,
award ceremonies, and various competitions.

Tech Crew Students are responsible for operating the auditorium lights, audio and stage. The club is open to all HHS sudents who have an interest in drama and stage technology . Tech Crew members meet every Friday in the Media Center, 2:15 to review skills and upcoming events requesting Tech Crew students.
